INUYASHA
Age: 223[/size]
Gender: Male
Species: Hanyou
Subspecies: Inugami
Occupation: Protector and defender of Inuyasha's Forest; Prince of the West
Alliance: ANNEICHITSUJO
Choice of Weapon(s):
---Claws
---Tetsusaiga: This is Inuyasha's inherited guardian sword. It protects Inuyasha from his youkai blood, which has the potential to consume his mind if it ever got the chance. Inuyasha inherited this sword from his father, who hid it at his grave site (inside his own body). The sword enables Inuyasha to fight on level ground with pretty much anybody.
(It has improved over the series: Inuyasha's fang added to the sword's power, as did the powerful barrier-creating ball that Shiori donated to Inuyasha for saving her mother.)
Battle Specialties & Flaws:
--Hijinkessou (Hijin-ketsusou, Blades of Blood)
“Flying Blades of Blood.” An Inuyasha attack. Blood from his body becomes a projectile attack. Ooo, how gruesome. But cool indeed. First introduced in Chapter 10, against Sakasagami no Yura (Inverted-Hair Yura).
--Sankontessou (Sankon-tetsusou, Iron Reaver soul, scatter, iron, claw)
“Soul-scattering Iron Claws.” An Inuyasha attack, which is probably considered his basic attack. With his claws, Inuyasha has the ability to rip apart weaker youkai, do a lot of damage to stronger youkai... and he can tear up iron beams.
--Kaze no kizu (Wind-Scar)
“Wound of the Wind.” First introduced by Sesshoumaru in Chapter 60, then built up in subsequent chapters as Tessaiga's basic attack. Inuyasha first begins to learn about it for himself in Chapters 127-130. It’s also sometimes translated as “wind-scar,” although “wound of the wind” sounds a lot more elegant. This attack uses the collision of youki (“the winds”) between two enemies to create a path (“the wound”) to unleash its energy.
--Bakuryuuha (Backlash Wave)
The name literally is the kanji for “Exploding Current Blast.” Introduced in Chapters 188-192, in which Inuyasha fought the dragon youkai Ryuukossei. Totousai describes it as Tessaiga’s ultimate attack. It’s described as using the youki from an enemy, coiling it in the kaze no kizu, and sending it back to the enemy.
--Akai Tessaiga (Red Tetsusaiga)
“Red Tessaiga.” Intoroduced by name in Chapter 218, and built through the "Shiori story" in Chapters 214-218. When it’s red, Tessaiga is able to create youki energy that can break down barriers set up by youkai. The red is from the blood of the youkai Taigokumaru, a giant bat-like youkai who was able to set up virtually indestructible barriers.
--Kongousouha (Adamant Barrage)
“Diamond Spear Blast.” My favorite, but least-used attack. Probably because it’s so new yet. Introduced in Chapters 324-325. When battling the youkai Housenki, Inuyasha opted to protect his friends rather than just selfishly strengthen Tessaiga. As a result, he was given the power of the diamond shards from Housenki. The diamonds become part of the kaze no kizu. Together, diamonds and youki blasts equal big ouchie.
--Ryuurin no Tessaiga (Dragon-Scaled Tessaiga)
“Dragon-Scaled Tessaiga.” Introduced in Chapter 391, and by name in Chapter 395. Tessaiga gained this ability when Inuyasha fought the possessed swordsmith Toushuu. After defeating and subsequently destroying the sword Datsuki, Tessaiga gained the power of the ryuujin's scales (dragon scales), which allowed it to suck up the youkai energy of its enemies. Later, in Chapter 428, under the guidance of Yourei-taisei, Inuyasha learned to master the Dragon-Scaled Tessaiga by searching for pockets of youki, called youketsu, and using the Dragon-Scaled sword to cut (rather than suck) through them.
--Kuroi Tessaiga (Black Tessaiga)
“Black Tessaiga.” Introduced in Chapters 503-504, the Black Tessaiga was a result of Inuyasha's Dragon-Scaled Tessaiga absorbing the powers of Tenseiga's Meidou Zangetsuha.
((Meidou Zangetsuha is a technique that creates a path that sends anyone who is hit with it directly hell, killing them without actually harming them. The technique originally belonged to the yokai Shishinki. The Inu no Taishou battled Shishinki and defeated him with the Tessaiga and used it to steal the technique. Because of the techniques dangerous ablitiy the Tenseiga was created to contain it.
The Meidou Zangetsuha creates a massive black circle that will send a entire body into hell, leaving no trace left behind. However when one is first learning to use the technique the Meidou will take the form of a black crescent moon that will only send a part of person into hell along with their soul, stronger youkai may be unaffected by the crescent Meidou. As the user gains strength the Meidou will grow until it becomes a perfect circle. When Totosai unlocked the technique in Tenseiga Sesshoumaru could create a crescent shaped Meidou.
As Sesshoumaru gained strength the Meidou became bigger, than became a oval shape, and finally a perfect circle. Sesshoumaru gave the Meidou Zangetsuha to InuYasha by allowing Tetsussaiga to absorb it.
When InuYasha mastered the Meidou Zangetsuha the technique evolved into a new technique that matched Tessaiga's nature of a sword that cuts. The new Meidou takes the form of a blade that can cut opponents and send their remains to hell. The new Meidou gains the ablitiy to cut while keeping it's original power intact, allowing it to even affect beings that have previously been shown to be completely immune to the regular Meidou, although the Shikon no Tama was able to survive even this technique's strength. ))
Physical Appearance: When he turns completely human his hair is dark black, he has no claws and no fangs. His eyes are gray. In his normal every day appearance, he's got long silver-white hair and a pair of puppy ears ^.^. He has amber eyes His canine teeth are actually fangs and he has long, claws. However, when he looses control of his demon blood he has red and blue eyes. One light purple ragged stripe on each side of his face. His fangs become longer and his long claws become stronger.
Overall Personality: Inuyasha loves and hates with equal force. Quick tempered, uses rude language. From the second you meet him you will probably want to either strangle him with you bare hands from his thingy and gruff attitude towards everyone or you will want to give him a hug if you realize how deeply hurt he is. While he is arrogant, he can also be very thoughtful and emotional (although he seldom shows it to others). He has many inner conflicts, one of them that he had for a long time is feeling responsible for Kikyou's death. He also didn't quite know how to express his feelings for Kagome at first. It took him a long time to grow and accept his friends, and realize they would not abandon him like the others. He is very proud and yet very caring. He is easily convinced to help people in need because deep down he's a good guy. But he won't admit it.
His early motivation to steal the Shikon no Tama was to use it to become a full demon. He was ridiculed as a child for being a hanyou or half-demon. His brother, Sesshoumaru, also despised him for a long time for this reason, and others which I won't go into. At one point he intended to use the jewel to become human, (but that's another story). Naraku destroyed any chance for Inuyasha to be happy with Kikyo, and he caused Inuyasha to be feared by everyone. This was the first of the reasons Inuyasha chose to go after Naraku. As time goes by, Inuyasha witnesses more and more tragedies that take place as a result of Naraku's meddling. This infuriates him and further motivates him to get stronger so he can destroy Naraku once and for all.
On the nights of the new moon, his character gets worse sometimes, When he is like this Inuyasha always appears to be on guard and angry. He's never very happy when he's human, and will get cranky at everyone. Since he didn't have anyone raise him, seeing as he lost his mom very young and had to fend for himself (even against much more powerful youkai) his manners are practically non-existent. Which makes you want to hit him over head when he is acting like a bratty child. It takes patience to deal with him. But his good heart makes it worth while.
History: Growing up, Inuyasha had a difficult childhood. Being half human and half demon, he was ostracized from both worlds, never finding a place to fit in as a child. His father, a great dog demon lord, died when Inuyasha was born while his mother passed away early in his childhood. Although he has a half-brother, the full demon Sesshoumaru, the two had a bad relationship due to Sesshoumaru's distaste for Inuyasha's mixed heritage.
The rest of his early life was lonesome and isolated until he met the priestess Kikyo. Although they should have been enemies, the two slowly fell in love until the tragic day that Naraku pitted them against one another. Believing Inuyasha had betrayed her, Kikyo sealed Inuyasha to a tree with a magical arrow. Kikyo died, and Inuyasha slept undisturbed for fifty years until Kagome arrived and set him free.
Initially Inuyasha could not stand Kagome, due to her strong resemblance to Kikyo. To counter this, the magical Beads of Subjugation were placed around Inuyasha neck, forcing him to the ground whenever Kagome shouts "Sit!" The pair slowly grow close as Inuyasha journeys to find the scattered pieces of the Shikon Jewel, but when Kikyo returns to life Inuyasha begins to doubt his feelings for Kagome.
Due to his mixed parentage, Inuyasha also has to contend with an unusual affliction. Each month during the new moon Inuyasha looses his powers and turns into a human. This is when he is most vulnerable, and only his closest companions are aware of the time of his transformation. Another concern is when his demonic blood overtakes him, causing him to transform into a full demon. During this state Inuyasha is uncontrollable to such an extent that he attacks friend and foe alike.
Over the course of Inuyasha's travels he learns that it was Naraku who engineered his feud with Kikyo. With his sword Tetsusaiga in hand, Inuyasha's mission has gone beyond merely collecting the jewel shards, but getting revenge against Naraku for his evil acts. Initially Inuyasha wanted to use the completed Shikon Jewel to become a full-blooded demon, but he now has reservations for what that decision may bring. With more time passing he and his new companions go through various hells together, all culminating in one giant battle against Naraku. After a lot, the group have all ended up inside Naraku’s huge spider body. Inuyasha had attacked Kagome after subcuming to blood lust, but at the very end, pushed her way to keep from hurting her. As he wanders aimlessly inside of Naraku, he remembers how he held Kikyo as she died in his arms. Realizing he's not to late to save Kagome Inuyasha suddenly snaps out of Naraku's control as he recalls Kagome falling from the cliff side. He looks down at his hands and sees they are covered in blood. He can tell from the scent that the blood belongs to Kagome, and Naraku asks him if he remembers what he did to her. After a whole lot more headache, and heartache, and a lot of problems. The group find themselves still alive, and still fighting Naraku.
The large spider orb is now dying and falling apart as it moves slowly through the sky. Ahead of it, Kohaku realizes that it is headed for Kaede's village. Naraku continues to fight on, launching orbs of concentrated miasma at Inuyasha, who counters with his Meido Zangetsuha.
The crescent blades of his attack rips through Naraku while Sesshoumaru uses the Bakusaiga to cut through the miasma that Inuyasha misses. Everyone contributes as Miroku uses his Wind Tunnel to absorb more of Naraku's poisons while Sango bashes them away with her Hiraikotsu.
Realization strikes everyone that Naraku’s plan is to fall on the village, but it’s too late as balls of Naraku's miasma begin to fall to the ground. The villagers below begin to run to avoid them as their houses fall apart. Inuyasha curses Naraku, who says that if Inuyasha kills him, his entire body will fall on the village. Inuyasha snarls silently, but suddenly Sesshoumaru rushes forward, responds that he does not care, and cuts Naraku in half with his Bakusaiga. The remnants of the spider explode and fall as the Shikon Jewel is separated from Naraku's body. Everyone rushes to avoid the spider's poisonous body as Sesshoumaru looks back in irritation as he realizes the Shikon Jewel survived his attack.
Once they've landed on the ground, Miroku begins using his Wind Tunnel to suck up as much of the falling miasma as possible while Inuyasha readies his Meido Zangetsuha to rip through the larger chunks, but the Shikon Jewel still survives unscathed. Kagome looks into the sky and suddenly sees the Shikon Jewel. She aims her bow and realizes that this is her chance to purify the Jewel for good. Filled with bravery, Kagome stares down Naraku and prepares to fire her purifying arrow at the Shikon Jewel. The arrow vanishes as it flies towards Naraku, just as it had done when Kagome fired at Hitomiko.
Inside his giant body, Naraku's body hovers next to the Shikon Jewel near death as Kagome's words echo in his mind, "the Shikon Jewel didn't grant your wish". As he floats alone, Naraku finally admits what he wished for- Kikyo's heart. As the arrow appears next to Naraku in the instant before it strikes, Naraku realizes he will not be able to see Kikyo in the afterlife. The arrow hits and a massive explosion tears the giant spiders remains apart as Inuyasha and Kagome look on.
As Naraku is destroyed, the clumps of miamsa that were falling on the village begin to disperse and vanish. Suddenly a whirlpool of energy flies towards Kagome, nearly hitting her, as Inuyasha quickly pulls her to safety with Miroku and Sango rushing to their side. As the energy wave dissipates, Naraku's head appears, attached only to his spine with the Shikon Jewel hovering in front of him, Kagome's arrow plunged through it's center as he floats over the Bone-Eater's Well. Naraku smiles as energy crackles from the Jewel and tells the group that when Byakuya cut Kagome with his katana, Naraku made his wish, and when he dies it will come true.
As his body begins to dissolve, Naraku cryptically says his wish was the same wish the Shikon Jewel wanted... and just as he dies, a Meido vortex opens behind Kagome. Kagome is sucked into the jewel. Where she procedes to be tricked by it. The darkened jewel wanting her soul almost.
Inuyasha manages to figure all this out and goes inside after her. Kagome stands silently with her eyes closed and the Jewel asks again. Inuyasha is still separated from her, but yelling for Kagome not to make a wish. Kagome waits with the Jewel and responds that she is not going to wish for anything. That she will wait for Inuyasha to come, because she believes in him. Suddenly a tear rips through the darkness in front of Inuyasha. Light emanates from the rip and Tetsusaiga vibrates violently in Inuyasha's hand. Lifting his sword, Inuyasha knows the Tetsusaiga wants him to strike where the light is. Inuyasha makes the cut and passes through it, suddenly appearing in front of Kagome. Kagome looks surprised to see him and reaches out to touch him to make sure he's real before finally collapsing into his arms. Kagome confesses that she wanted to be with him as Inuyasha hugs her. The couple turns to face the Shikon Jewel as Kagome says she is ready to make her wish. She is confident her decision, knowing that with Inuyasha at her side she has the strength to make the right choice and force the Shikon Jewel to disappear from existence. She tells the Shikon Jewel to disappear forever and suddenly the Jewel begins to crack and shatter. The darkness is bathed in light as Kagome and Inuyasha cling together, knowing they made the right wish.
As the end of it comes, the world returns to normal, The darkness of the past three years gone, along with Naraku and the Shikon. Rin and Kaede run down a set of stairs hurring to Sango’s and Miroku’s hut. As Miroku and Inuyasha come back from an exsorsism, Rin and Kaede are bathing Miroku newborn son. It turns out that Miroku's new son is not his firstborn, as he already has a set of twin girls. Sango lays on the floor with their children, inviting Miroku to come see his new son. That night, Sango and Miroku discuss Kagome. It has been three years since they killed Naraku, and Kagome has not been seen since then.
Three years ago, a flash of light returned the Bone-Eater's Well and Inuyasha reappeared soon after as well, but he was alone. Miroku tells Sango that Inuyasha rarely speaks about what happened, other than to say Kagome is safe, and there are others that needed her. Miroku ponders Inuyasha's lonliness as the half-demon stands outside on the edge of a cliff looking off into the night.
In the future, closing her eyes, Kagome tells herself how much she wished she could be with Inuyasha. Quietly Kagome's mother comes into the well room and embraces her daughter as she sadly stares into the empty well. At the bottom of the well Kagome can see the sky on the other side...
In the past Inuyasha sits under a tree as Sango and Miroku's children climb all over him. Suddenly he smells something and leaves the children to pester Shippo as he rushes off to the well. Hesitantly he peers into it and reaches inside, when Kagome's hand reaches up to take his. Inuyasha pulls her out of the well and they stare into one another's eyes. Kagome asks if she kept Inuyasha waiting, and he embraces her and asks what she's been doing all these years. Sango, Miroku, Shippo and the children run up, shocked to see Kagome as she tells them she's back.
Kagome learns of what has happened in the three years since she left, Shippo would leave frequently to go and train, Kohaku left as well getting a new weapon from Totosai and went on to continue his family's demon slaying traditions. Myoga too stayed with Totosai.
In the village, Kagome and Rin have been studying with Kaede, as they learn to make medicines. Kagome tells Inuyasha that she was surprised Rin did not stay with Sesshoumaru, but Kaede insisted that she make preparations to return to the human village where she grew up. Just then, Sesshoumaru flies overhead with Jaken in tow, as the little demon calls out to his master that Kagome has returned.
Kagome cheerfully calls Sesshoumaru "brother" now that she and Inuyasha have married, but the demon lord simply glares coldly at Kagome as he proceeds on his way, as he leaves Rin a new kimono. As she rides on Inuyasha's back, Kagome thinks to herself how she will live in this era together with Inuyasha. As they live for tomorrow, Kagome, dressed in priestess robes like Kikyo once wore, stands with Inuyasha looking off at the distant mountains.
