• • • GENERAL
- The rating of Ostracism Never Lies is appraised R due to adult content that may not be approved for the view of youngsters. If you are younger than the appropriate age of 18-, then you are at your own risk. You have been warned unless you are mentally mature.
- Always welcome and give respect to one another. Do not bring dramas; it is only acceptable in-character posts, not outside of it. This is a place to have fun, not a place to wage a war with each other.
- Activity is a must and please keep up with the forum’s pace. If you are to be absent for certain amount of days, please let the staff know via Rap Session a La Fun.
- Please only advertise in the appropriate board. Do not advertise via PM or anywhere else on the forum unless in the appropriate board. If you are found advertising anywhere else on the forum, you will be banned without question. Why? It’s an insult and there’s a board made only for advertising. Please use it.
• • • CHARACTER
- You are limited to four canon characters and unlimited made-up characters. Personal limitation is set by you alone. If you find you bit off more than you can chew, please adopt them out or kill them off. Otherwise, you will be notified by the staff for a reduction of your character statistics.
- Please be kind to character statistics. If you see there are overpopulated demons, then choose another character type (i.e. human, hanyou, etc). The same goes for gender ratios.
- We do not welcome Mary-sue or Gary-sue. It is really a form of no creativity and will be rejected.
- One character per account. You can have any kind of username. Just be sure to set the display name to your character’s name and capitalized correctly.
- Ensure that your character's powers and abilities are carefully balanced and not overwhelming. For every three powers or abilities your character has, there should be at least two flaws. If you want, you can list flaws for every powers or abilities a character has. Either way, it works fine.
- All characters approved before July 8, 2009 may remain the same.
• • • IMAGES
- Maximum size of the avatar is 120x200. If you find that the forum indicates its max size is 100x100, please ignore it. I have coded the forum to change its max size to what I indicated.
- The max size for signatures is 510x160. Please, do not add a second signature. You are allowed one signature per accounts.
- No real-life celebrity, myspace or model accepted; only anime face claims are allowed. This is strictly an anime role-play game.
- Please use common sense and ensure that your pictures are tastefully done. No obvious nudity is appreciated here.
• • • POSTING
- All role-play games are set in third-person. This is a place where posts are made in sequences of quality paragraphs. There is no limitation or expectation of how the post is written or determined by its length, only except to ensure the fun of writing.
- Also try to stay within the amount of paragraphs as other player’s posts as part of good etiquette. No one likes to write a five paragraph post only to get a reply that is two-paragraph post.
- Proof-read your posts before posting them. No one wants to read a post riddled with grammar and spelling mistakes. Do not make haste with it. No one has a gun to your head. >P’’
- Obviously, no one-liner posts is appreciated here. That is nowhere near being a quality post.- No Meta-Gaming, Power-Playing or God-Moding.
- God-Moding; An act of giving your character power boosts that make them appear "god-like," leading to: dodging every attacks thrown at them without suffering some form of consequences, invincibility or anything else that provide a character a huge advantage in a game play.
- Power-Playing; An act of controlling another person's character without their consent. Due to certain circumstances in a role-play posts, some players may not mind "little" power-play, but there are those who do. If a complaint is filed, do not be surprised if a warning comes your way.
- Meta-Gaming; An act of using the out-of-character knowledge into the in-character knowledge. Just because you know does not mean your character knows. The same goes for character thoughts. Another character cannot know another character's thoughts unless told verbally or willingly given (i.e. telepathy - but exercise with care!).- Please use the message icon for “Mature Content” to give warning and always use the spoiler tag to censor the mature content (which will be uncensored when clicked for those who want to read it).
- Obviously, sexual content is allowed, but this is not a porn RPG. Repeated posts with sexual contents all over the forum will result in probation or ban depending on the degree of…crime, per say. Again, censor such contents with spoiler tag as always. (I better not find myself repeating this over and over).
- Gore, blood, sadism or anything related to violence is all for free reign. If we limit this, then we limit creativity. So, let it all out!
- No colorful decorations or avatars when posting. It is fine if you color the dialogue or thoughts, but that’s just it. This is literate RPG, not a place to fiddle with decorations.
- If your character is thinking in first-person writing, please italicize the statements. This helps to avoid confusion of third-person and first-person writing. This is the only acceptable form of first-person writing - the thoughts of characters.- Joint-posting is fine, especially for those who have one player with two characters posting together with another player and its character. Use common sense and not over-do it unless circumstances in a role-play world calls for it.
- Profanity is tolerable just as violence and sexual contents are, only as long as it’s not made into repeated language. Racism and sexism in an in-character post is acceptable. If directed to a player, a prompt ban without question will be initiated. I do not welcome discrimination here at all.
The staff reserves the right to change the rules to suit the need of the forum and its members. Any rules changed or added will have a yellow bullet next to it with the updated information provided at the top of this post. If new update occurs, the last updated rules will no longer sport the yellow bullet, and only the latest rules will contain one.
